Sidewalks in need of repair are maintained by city of Jeffersontown. It is to everyone's advantage to maintain the area in front of their home as best as possible. Should a repair become necessary, please contact Jeffersontown Public Works and provide them with the address where the sidewalk needs inspection.

Broken sidewalks are rated 1 through 5, with 5 being the worst trip hazard. A broken sidewalk must be rated a 4 or a 5 to be eligible for funding repairs. Below is the rating system.

LOUISVILLE METRO PUBLIC WORKS SIDEWALK INSPECTION RATING SYSTEM

1 - Sidewalk is rough or holds water, no height difference

2 - Less than 1" trip point

3 - Between one and two inch trip point

4 - Between two and three inch trip point

5 - Over 3 inch trip point
